Larnaca, Cyprus – With the inspiring slogan “Where Local Excellence Meets Global Perspective,” the Cypriot EASA Approved Training Organization CAFA Flying Academy and the UAE-based Intercontinental Aviation Academy (FlyIAA) unveiled their shared vision for the future of aviation training during a successful Open Day held in Larnaca.

The event attracted a large audience of aspiring pilots and their parents, who had the opportunity to meet instructors, explore training opportunities, and learn more about the growing partnership between the two organizations.

During the event, the Chief Executive Officer of IAA announced further integration of the operations of IAA and CAFA, following the partnership agreement signed in Dubai in November last year. The partnership marks a significant milestone in the development of Cyprus as a regional center of excellence for pilot training.

Captain Wissam Mehyou, CEO of FlyIAA, said:

“For many years we have recognized the tremendous potential of Cyprus to become a regional aviation training hub. Excellent flying weather, a safe environment, a robust regulatory framework and highly skilled aviation professionals convinced us that Cyprus is the ideal place to train the next generation of pilots. In the past, Cypriots travelled abroad to pursue their aviation dreams. Today, aspiring pilots from across Europe and the Middle East are choosing Cyprus for their flight training.”

Captain Christos Limnatitis, Accountable Manager of CAFA Flying Academy, highlighted the international character of the academy:

“Our team comprises more than 75 aviation professionals from 20 different countries, bringing multicultural understanding and global expertise directly into every student’s training experience. This diversity, combined with our commitment to excellence, prepares our graduates for successful careers in the international aviation industry.”

The partnership has already produced impressive results. Following the registration of more than 50 pilot cadets from IAA Lebanon, the two organizations have signed a new agreement covering the training of 20 additional cadets from IAA Dubai. At the same time, more than 30 Cypriot students are currently enrolled in CAFA–FlyIAA training programs.

The continued expansion of the partnership further strengthens Cyprus’ position as an emerging aviation education hub, attracting students from across the region while providing local aspiring pilots with world-class training without leaving the island.

As demand for airline pilots continues to grow globally, the collaboration between CAFA and FlyIAA demonstrates how Cyprus is evolving into an international destination for high-quality aviation education, combining local expertise with global opportunities.

CAFA is an EASA and DCA Cyprus approved Training Organization based in the airside of Larnaca International Airport providing Aviation Training for Professional Pilots.

FlyIAA is a leading international aviation training institution committed to shaping the next generation of aviation professionals through excellence, innovation, and globally recognized training standards. Backed by one of the world’s leading aviation conglomerates, the Academy combines state-of-the-art training facilities, advanced flight simulation technology, and industry expertise to deliver world-class aviation education.

Headquartered in the United Arab Emirates and including academies across Cyprus, Portugal, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, FlyIAA provides aspiring pilots and aviation professionals with access to internationally recognized training programs designed to meet the evolving needs of the global aviation industry.
